DESCRIPTION:                                

Serves as security officer for the College following the guidelines outlined in the College Security manual and as directed by the Director Safety/Security. Patrols grounds and buildings of campus to maintain order and provide protection of buildings, contents, and grounds.  Ensures only personnel with legitimate business at the College are on College property.  If unauthorized persons are found, issues notice of trespass tickets.  Issues student ID cards and parking permits; provides information assistance as necessary to visitors, students, faculty, and staff.  Answers complaints, prepares incident reports, notifies proper authorities of incidents such as emergencies, trespassing, fires, etc.  Delivers and picks up bank bags and change for the College. Opens and closes buildings and responds to any alarm activations during normal business hours or when the College is closed.  Locks and unlocks exterior and interior doors as scheduled and requested. Patrols parking areas and tickets illegally parked vehicles; enforces all parking and traffic regulations; directs traffic to include traffic control for special College functions and visiting dignitaries. Assists with tornado, fire, and other drills.  Monitors and reports maintenance issues (such as lights not working) to maintenance department.  Checks fire extinguishers monthly and documents.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Collaborate with academic departments to develop and offer workshops, course-related presentations, and administer assessments. Promote academic support services. Develops new ideas and methods for instruction and prepares supplemental course materials to enhance instruction. Collaborates with academic departments to provide academic support services virtually, in-person, and online. DESCRIPTION:

Under general supervision of the PBI Formula Grant Director in the Advisement and Support Center, the Student Engagement Specialist (SES) will identify and utilize tools designed to improve the relationship between students, faculty, admissions and the Advisement and Support Center. They will collaborate cross divisions to engage students from admission through graduation. SES will report to the PBI Formula Director which student engagement techniques are successful and which ones need to be revisited. Engagement Specialist will work with students to establish goals, identify basic needs and priorities in order to improve their overall experience at CCTC. The SES will develop an engagement plan and assist students with referrals for resources and communication with Faculty. SES will assist with the development and implementation of student engagement and retention initiatives for the college. Acts as liaison between Academic Advisors and Program Advisors to assist in offering Face-to-face assistance for students. This is a student facing position that may require travel to remote campuses.

QUALIFICATIONS:          

High School Diploma. Special consideration will be given to past CCTC students services and CCTC Alumni. Prior experience with student experience and Associates’ Degree preferred.

Connects students with BrainFuse, Writing Center, Math Center, Infobase Cloud, and other academic support resources. Maintains student support records and submitting reports. Collects student survey data on the value of the assistance.

Counsels students on career options and college transfer opportunities. Manages an individual student caseload. Conducts individual and group counseling sessions. Serves as an academic advisor to participants to ensure students are achieving academic and career goals. Develops and conducts workshops that will provide participants’ opportunities to learn success-oriented skills. Participates as member of Academic Appeals Committee.  Participates in State TRIO (SC TRIO) & Regional TRIO Southeastern Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (SAEOPP) Leadership programs. Manages the TRIO tutoring program and provides guidance, and in-service training to all tutors/mentors. Monitors contracts and supervises group and individual sessions to ensure integrity of program. Maintains compliance with federal regulations governing the project. Ensures that all participants meet federal guidelines for program participation. Provides reports to Director of TRIO Programs to ensure participants are following the required guidelines of program.
